In addition to 12 King Kong films, this pairing is the second, by my count after the 1963 version. Kong first appeared in the classic 1933 version (“King Kong”) from RKO. The film saved the studio from bankruptcy. It starred Fay Wray and Bruce Cabot and is still one of my favorite films. The original Godzilla was released in 1954.
